At Bäck Artists, we bring together artistic vision and strategic thinking to transform ideas into practical, meaningful outcomes for communities through visual art, design, and music.

Artist-led and grounded in collaboration, we harness the imagination and technical expertise of creatives to work with government and not-for-profit organisations. Simply put, we back artists to create exceptional work.

WHO WE ARE:

01. Director:
Eloise Lindeb
äck


Eloise Lindebäck is an artist, cultural strategist, and producer. She specialises in business development and facilitating collaborative creative projects within regional and non-traditional art contexts. Her guiding principle is to back the unique skill set of artists, and champion their creative leadership, expertise, and experimentation.

Before founding Bäck Artists, Eloise worked in local government with Manly Art Gallery & Museum, Northern Beaches Council, where she held the positions of Acting Manager, Arts & Culture & Gallery Director, and Gallery Business Coordinator. Earlier in her career, she worked in State Government at the Powerhouse, and lived and worked in Central Australia, holding managerial and studio roles with leading Aboriginal art centres Tangentyere Artists and Papunya Tjupi Arts. 

Eloise currently writes for Art Collector Magazine, is a casual academic at the University of New South Wales, and is Curator of Our Choir Has Always Been Travelling, a national touring exhibition with Hermannsburg Potters and Tangentyere Artists, in development with Artback NT. She also volunteers with the Manly Adolescent & Young Adults Hospice Art Program, serves as an Assessor for Regional Arts Australia, and has previously held peer assessor roles with Museums & Galleries of NSW and Arts NT.

Eloise holds a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Dean’s Scholar) from the University of Wollongong and a Master of Curating and Cultural Leadership with Excellence from the University of New South Wales.


02. Collaborator:
Juune李


Timothy Lee is an Chinese-Malaysian-Australian artist/graphic designer, publishing work under the monika Juune李. He works in digital content creation using the mediums of 2D/3D animation, illustration and projection mapping.

With close to a decade of international experience, he’s been featured and/or commissioned by major projects including the Opening of the Sydney Metro, 10th West Bund Art and Design Fair in Shanghai, Sydney Festival, ABC Australia, Raindance Film Festival in America, University of New South Wales, Vivid Sydney, Sydney Chinatown, Barkaa, and Good Vibes Festival in Malaysia.

Timothy has strong experience working with both local and state government teams on contemporary art and communications projects including Transport for NSW, Destination NSW, City of Sydney, and City of Parramatta.  

Timothy holds a Bachelor of Media Arts (Hons) from the University of New South Wales.

03.  Collaborator:
Christiane Statham

Christiane Statham is a public art curator and cultural researcher. Her practice has a particular focus on public art and the environment, and she is dedicated to expanding the potential of public art through collaborative projects with artists, communities, scientists, academics, architects and design professionals. She believes in the potential for art and artists to effect positive change and aims to facilitate this through her work.

Christiane has worked in diverse areas of the arts and culture sectors across Australia, Europe and Central Asia. From 2020 - 2024, she was the Public Art Coordinator at Northern Beaches Council and delivered major public art commissions on the Northern Beaches Coast Walk, a 36km walkway between Manly and Palm Beach, along with a number of other public and street art projects. In 2025, Christiane is writing her doctoral thesis, which focuses on the dynamics and challenges of embedding cultural infrastructure.

Christiane has a Bachelor of Art Theory from the University of New South Wales and the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Netherlands. She also has a Master of Curating and Cultural Leadership from the University of New South Wales and is a PHD candidate at the Institute for Culture and Society at Western Sydney University within the Australian Research Council-funded project The Collaborative Museum, a collaboration between Western Sydney University and the Powerhouse. Christiane was the recipient of the 2025 Labrador Current Foodways Residency with Fogo Island Arts in Newfoundland, Canada, and is a proud Management Committee member of Outloud in Bankstown.
